ESFJ
Supportive contributor
ESFJ types are conscientious team players who thrive on close collaboration with others, value community, and apply common sense to overcome challenges. Normally outgoing and sociable, ESFJs have a keen awareness of what others need and greatly appreciate the contributions of those around them. They gather relevant facts before making decisions and excel at establishing effective procedures.
People with ESFJ preferences may sometimes be overly influenced by what they believe others want when it comes to decision making. This can make it difficult for them to adjust their plans if unexpected opportunities arise. They also tend to be excessively obliging or compliant towards authority figures.
ESFJs are emotionally attuned to others, using empathy to understand their needs and relate to their concerns and situations.

ESFJ career paths
ESFJs thrive in environments with a familial atmosphere built on kindness and care, where relationships are highly valued. They are motivated by close contact with colleagues and customers, and are eager to communicate the value behind a product, service, or project.
Many ESFJs are drawn to careers in childcare, nursing, or education.
ESFJs under stress
ESFJs typically experience stress when facing difficulties in collaboration or undermining colleagues, conflicts and divisions in relationships, or sudden changes. They are also affected when they are exposed to personal criticism, expected to engage with people impersonally, do not have enough time to complete their work properly, or when their tasks conflict with their own values and integrity. Under significant pressure, ESFJs can become self-critical, doubt themselves, and less sensitive towards others.
The MBTI® Stress Head can serve as a helpful reminder of when ESFJ types are most likely to experience stress.
